The book that changed the world

The Bible likewise is the most translated book in history having more or less 2,000 translations in different languages and local dialects all over the world. This is thanks to the many individuals and missionaries who dedicated their whole lives in translating the Bible to local languages and dialects. In the Philippines, several volunteers and missionaries translated parts of the Bible throughout the 1800s and 1900s. Among these are renowned poet Don Pascual Poblete, who translated the Synoptic Gospels and Acts into Filipino; lawyer Don Cayetano Lucban, who translated the Gospel of Luke into Bicolano; labor leader and journalist Isabelo de los Reyes, who translated the Gospel of Luke and Acts into Ilokano; and Baptist missionary Braulio Manikan, who translated the Bible into Hiligaynon.
